Week 7: Meeting + Animation Project Brief
After the website design, the company is pleased with the outcomes and want to move on with a whole new project: adding extra animation to make the website and the app more dynamic.
Tyrone had a random idea while he was surfing some websites for inspiration and examples. Then he shows it to me and asks me if I could use this inspiration to apply for the new project. Lauren also has some ideas on her head, and I have to note them down very fast. It is quite hard for designers to understand the clients' vision in their heads, but for me, it is not a big problem. I could envision what they mean and start to have a plan for this animation project.

For the illustration style: At first, I asked them about the style that they would after, but the clients said that I could do whatever I want, as long as it fits with the company's overall style. I tried to ask them specific questions to narrow their preferences, and then Lauren has some idea about the illustration style of Megan Hess, a fashion artist that she knows. However, I acknowledged that I was not at all comfortable with this style of drawing, so I did tell them and said that this is not in my strength and capability. Moreover, to do this illustration style, I have to get used to drawing on pads like Wacom, which will take a lot of time to learn and gain experiences. The clients said those were not a problem; just try my best.
However, I know that as a designer, I have to accept challenges and challenge myself to do things that I have not done before. My next goal is to find an alternative to that style: still, keep the elegant spirit, but can be achievable within my capability.
